FAMILY MATTERS

On another note, my cousin n family n aunt from KL will be coming today. They will only arive around midnight but a whole list of itinerary has been planned for them. I'll be bringing my coz shopping tomorrow probably at the Robinson's Warehouse sale and/or Kiddy Palace Toa Payoh (heard it was huge) then off to Escape Theme Park on Sunday. Monday has been slated as guy's day out as THE DON will be bringing my coz's husband golfing in Desaru, together with his dad. I'll have to go to work so looks like my mom, sis and coz will have another field day shopping. They will be here till Wed as apparently it's gonna b the long hols for Malaysia. Sat is labour day then two more days of hols in celebration of Maulud Nabi. Hmmphh!!!!!!.. (I'm fuming in jealousy)

It's great to have such a close-knit family (actually extended family) and long hols like this sure come in handy for visiting relatives in faraway places. As long as I can remember, I've never spent a long weekend holiday in Singapore, I'd always be somewhere in Malaysia. Thats the wonderful thing about being in a humongous family.

Anyway one of the Interior Designers we met over the weekend commented how THE DON and I placed design considerations based on a large family but technically only 3 of us would be in the house. We didn't notice it too but now that he has mentioned it, we realised that indeed we do. For example, he suggested an L-shaped sofa but we declined as we felt a 3 + 2 will fit the family better. A few other decisions were also made on these premises. In fact, my aunt has said that if we have our own place, she and her family might consider even celebrating Hari Raya next year at our place. Now that would be really WONDERFUL !!!!!!

I LOVE YOU
YOU LOVE ME
WE ARE HAPPY FAMILY
WITH A GREAT BIG HUG
AND A KISS FROM ME TO YOU
WON'T YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME TOO..
- BARNEY-

I received the Barney tickets in the mail yesterday. The tickets costs a bomb but with the 15% discount (for HSBC Card Members Only) I guess it wasn't too bad. In any case the look on Muhd Idris' face when he sees BARNEY for real will make the cost of the tickets more then justified.

Just before lunch, I received an incredibly good news. The Mak Andam we want (Wat is Mak Andam in English?) is available on our wedding dates. Initially she was going to send her assistant as she had had a prior arrangement but now that the other couple has cancelled/postponed their wedding, HOORAY !!! Reason I'm so happy is because it's not easy for me to feel comfortable with someone and having build that rapport with her during our engagement, I'd very much like to have her again for our wedding too.

Went to Suntec after work yesterday to meet my best fren cum fellow Shopping Queen for our shopping session at the Robinson's warehouse sale. But first stop ---> The Rice Table Indonesian Restaurant @ Suntec. She has been wanting to bring me there for dinner but somehow the timing has always not permitted. So yesterday, despite being in a hurry to maximise our shopping time, we went anyway.

The ambience was lovely. Warm glow lights surround an authentic Balinese theme complete with water feature and batik place mats. Food was uniquely served on small platters on a horizontal food warmer on each individual table. It was essentially a buffet spread right before our eyes. We counted 19 different dishes, everything from lemak lodeh, to sambal prawns to otak otak and it didn't cost a bomb !!!!!! The food wasn't too bad too. Hmm.. looks like I'll b going back there pretty soon with THE DON and both our moms.

THE SALE
Despite the torrid rain and gusty winds n the meandering taxi queue, we still made our way to the Singapore Expo, of course with a lil' help from THE DON (he fetched us from Suntec n sent us to the Expo, Thank u DARLING !!!) Nothing was gonna come in between us and shopping. Surprisingly, there were not many people there. (the rain probably had sumthing to do with it) The shoes were going at a real bargain and of coz, of coz being the shoe-freak that I am, I got myself a pair.

There were many many crystals on sale. It was dirt cheap (as far as prices for crystals go) especially considering these were authentic Bohemia crystals. Our eyes glazed
over looking at the huge array of crystals shimmerring in the light. I got for our new place ice cream / dessert bowls, something I have been wanting for a very long time. Crystals have always fascinated me and I love giving away crystals as gifts. (Anybody wanna be my fren?)

We did not do as much shopping as we normally did. Simply because we did not have enough time and also as I was on a strict budget. (hahaha) But all in all it was a great day....

RETAIL THERAPY

I have been keeping away from shopping centres and ATMs since the last few months. I know it's hard to belive. Me, THE SHOPPING QUEEN... have not shopped for the last two months. I did not even go to the last John Little Warehouse Sale. (Ok, technically I was away during the weekend but still, I DIDN'T GO so thats what counts!!)

Now that we have finally found our love-nest (dun get any weird ideas!) I can start stocking up on things for the house. Actually, I already have 2 suitcases full of things for the new houses and by suitcases I mean real BIG suitcases, hehehe.

And I already bought the full range of Meyer pots n pans courtesy of warehouse sales. And all these are tucked nicely under IS's bed at his home. And not to mention Tupperware products, my mom being a long-time dealer, she has bought me almost everything in the catalogue. Looks like unlike most other newly-wed couple with empty shelves and empty cupboards, our's are gonna be long filled before we even move in.

Well, tomorrow is the start of the ROBINSON's Warehouse sale. Let's see if I can find some of the things we have shortlisted for our new place.

POWERLESS

Powerless (Say What You Want) - NELLY FURTADO
Paint my face in your magazines
Make it look whiter than it seems
Paint me over with your dreams
Shove away my ethnicity
Burn every notion that I may have a flame inside to fight
And say just what is on my mind
Without offending your might

Cuz this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless what are you gonna do
So say what you want
Say what you want

I saw her face outside today
Weatherworn, looking all the rage
They took her passion and her gaze and made a poster
Now it's moccasins we sport
We take the culture and contort
Perhaps only to distort what we are hiding

Cuz this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless what are you gonna do
But say what you want
Say what you want

Hey you, the one outside, are you ever gonna get in, get in
Hey you, the one that don't fit in, how ya, how ya gonna get in
Hey you, the one outside, are you ever gonna get in with your
Broken teeth, broken jaw, broken mojo
Yeah, this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless, what are you gonna do

Cuz this life is too short to live it just for you
But when you feel so powerless, what are you gonna do

Heard this song in the car on the way to work this morning and can't seem to get it outta my head. I actually found out that Furtado is actually singing a cover of Diana Ross' song. Hmm.. gotto go hear the original sometime...

Monday as usual, is a PURPLE day for me. Everything dun seem to be going well in the office today. Lots of documents wrongly served, lots of blood-sucking clients came by. I'm just gonna be glad the day is going to be over in half an hour's time.

It has been really quiet at home these past few days coz my mom, sis, bro-in-law & Handsome Boy has gone to Kuantan n Temerloh. They left on Sat morning and will only be back on this coming Friday. Miss my honey-bunny lil' imp of a nephew sooooo much. Wonder how it's gonna be like when I move out? Looks like IS and I will come by every other day to see him.

Speaking of moving out....I have been eating, drinking, living, breathing the new house. I have been poring over many many stacks of decor magazine, browsing Interior designer's websites, and making many many enquiries over the phone. IS has been equally busy, sourcing out contacts for the things we wanna do. In fact some of his high-profile friends has offered their expertise for free. One even got his Feng Shui Master to give us free advice. Hahaha

It seems that a lot of people are sharing our joy. It feels great to know that people feel happy for us too.

It has been a while hasn't it ?

We brought both our parents to see the new place. They love it too... especially my future dad-in-law. He thot it was splendid !! So with their blessings, we paid the deposit and signed the papers. Insya'allah we'll officially be owners of the flat in 3 months time.

Me, being me, I got IS to get the floor plan (it didnt take much coaxing coz he's just as excited as I was, hehe) and armed with it, went shopping for interior designers. We have quite specific ideas on what to do to the place, but we thought we'd consult the experts first. And we went home amazed at their creativeness. They had so much ideas to offer and we hadn't even signed up yet !!! Needless, to say it has been an interesting weekend. Didn't noe there was so much mumbo-jumbo to know about reno & design......

After two long tiring days of reno-hunting, decided to give ourselves a treat and had these............

QUESADILLAS...YUMMY!!!!!

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS .........

Yet, as I look, I see a woman's face
Gleam from a window far above the street.
This is a house of homes, a sacred place,
By human passion made divinely sweet.
How all the building thrills with sudden grace
Beneath the magic of Love's golden feet!
- The Apartment House - Joyce Kilmer

We rushed for our appointment from work, walked into the empty house, I gave him a look, he returned the look. We both said "WE"LL TAKE IT !"

TODay eIGHT yEARS aGO....

FLASHBACK ....19th April 1996

I walked into McDonalds @ Choa Chu Kang, (we were all of 16 and that was all our allowances permitted) not knowing what to expect. The first person I saw was a classmate and at that moment never before had I felt so in need for magical powers to make her go away. Looking around, there HE was, sitting by the glass panel, with a Tom Clancy paperback in hand. "Hmm.. He reads...Impressive", I thought. Short of pulling out a chair for me, (well the chair was the swivel type and could not be pulled, and besides,whoever heard of chairs being pulled at McD?) I must say he was the perfect gentleman.

The rest as they say .. is history ......

Eight years on, here we are, at the brink of starting a whole new life together. I guess we really really made it happen.. Even we ourselves were not so sure that we could last this long. We had the ups and the downs and after a long journey I guess we have made a full round and finally sealed the circle just like the figure

YOU'RE STILL THE ONE (Shania Twain)

When I first saw you, I saw love.
And the first time you touched me,
I felt love.
And after all this time, you're still the one I love.

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

Ain't nothin' better
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

Diamonds Are Forever (?)

David Beckham has bought his wife a £1m giant pink diamond ring as a birthday present.
Pink diamonds are said to be the rarest and most expensive of all.
The Real Madrid and England star is reported to have bought the gems at Asprey's jewellers in London.
Aaaaaahh.. my jaw practically dropped and hit the floor when I read this piece of news.

But then again, even a £1m diamond ring wun be able to erase the hurt n anguish caused by what he did to her.

Funny though, how sympathies dun seem to be pouring out for the suffering wife. Despite the obvious injustice & the involvement of two innocent kids, she still seems to be at the cruel end of jokes n barbs. And the worst barbs seem to come from women. I guess what they say is true,

"WOMEN ARE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMY"

An eg. of what has been written
-->Zoe Williams: The Tosh About Posh -By Guardian Newspapers, 4/13/2004
Posh, who is not posh, and who is married to David Beckham. He, if anything, is less posh still, but has been bedding females other than Posh, allegedly, who happen to be posher than Posh herself. These females, PR woman Rebecca Loos and model/barrister's daughter Sarah Marbeck, are either as posh as Tara P-T or slightly less posh - they are definitely in that bracket of upper-classness where material differences between the posh and the superposh become very subtle, and the middle classes start to get confused.

Who can blame David for going for two posh girls who are everything Posh isn't?"

When the news broke, there were two possible culprits: it was either Posh's fault, for being too thin and failing to follow her husband when he moved to Madrid; or it was Rebecca Loos's fault for being a slapper. The second tier of debate ran: "Why do women hate Posh so?" To which many commentators answered, well, she is too thin, and she failed to follow us to Madrid. No, that's not right - we envy her thinness, even while it drove her husband into the arms of that hussy. I think the final message was that trusty favourite: women beware women - some of them will steal your husband, and all the others are just plain mean.

The Posh and the Posher

Here's another -->DON'T HOLD BECK YOUR TEARS, POSH - Monday 19 April 2004 http://www.mirror.co.uk

FAKE breasts, fake hair, fake nails, fake smiles - Victoria Beckham shouldn't be that surprised that her "perfect" marriage turns out to be just another big sham.

Now, as Saint David looks increasingly like a sleazy Tory MP with his trousers down, she has to do what the real posh girls do in times such as these.She has to have the courage to let her humiliation show.

She has to wipe that stupid rictus grin off her face. She has to call a halt to the ludicrously lovey-dovey photoshoots with favoured members of the paparazzi. She has to forget about rush-releasing yet another record that nobody wants to hear or buy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why oh why are women so mean?? Do we lack the compassion to show emphaty to a sister in pain ? Or are our green eyes shining a little too brightly that it shadows whatever shred of love there is for another female soul ? Or issit the lingering aftertaste of those sour grapes that makes us oh-so-happy that she is finally off the pedestal she never was meant for ?? hhhmm... what say you ladies ??
Cruise and Cruz split after three years
TOM CRUISE AND PENELOPE CRUZ
Click to enlarge photo
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hollywood power couple Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz have ended their romance after nearly three years, though they remain "good friends" and are not dating anyone else, their publicists say.
"They broke up at the end of January," Robert Garlock, a spokesman for the Spanish-born actress, told Reuters. "It's amicable, they are good friends and talk often. There's no other person involved."
He added that neither star is dating anyone else at the moment.
Cruise's sister and publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, also confirmed "they did break up", but said the two stars are "very good friends" who talk frequently. "They're just not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore."
She added, "There's nobody else involved."
The couple met in 2000 while working together on the Cameron Crowe-directed film "Vanilla Sky" and began dating in July 2001 after Cruise's decade-long marriage to Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman fell apart.
A source said Cruise, 41, and Cruz, 29, ultimately split up because of the difficulty of maintaining a relationship while spending much of their time apart in distant locations making movies.
Cruise, a three-time Oscar nominee and star of the recent historical action drama "The Last Samurai", is currently in pre-production on a third "Mission: Impossible" film.
Cruz, who was last in cinemas co-starring with cinemas Berry in the thriller "Gothika", is now in Morocco filming the action movie "Sahara", Garlock said.
Hahaha.. I knew this was bound to happen sooner or later. I don't usually fancy celebrities enuff to keep track of their lives (except this brief period of time in my life when I wet goo-goo-gaa-gaa over Fandi Ahmad) but I really really like Tom Cruise and not just for the obvious reasons. I have always thought that he and Nicole managed to brave all odds and I had the highest respect for them. I mean its not easy living life in the limelight all the time, have careers that take up most of their time, deal with their childlessness and yet stay together for so long. I was almost devastated by news of theor separation and eventual divorce.
Well.... at least he's single now.
SPLASH !!
Our decision to leave SG early on Thurs was indeed a prudent one. Thank goodness our journey was smooth sailing all the way. We heard that by 6pm that day the causeway was jam packed. Even the 2nd link was said to be congested. By 10pm that night, we had already reached Temerloh Pahang. The kids as expected, were ecstatic to see us. Hearing we were back there, my cousins from KL, Perak n Kuantan all came back too even though Fri was not a public holiday in Malaysia.
SATURDAY
Everybody (including the kids) woke up early today in antiipation of the picnic n swim. We brought enough food to feed an army --> Nasi Lemak, Fried Bee Hoon, Tuna Sandwiches, cartons n cartons of packet drinks, orange cordial, a huge circus-like tent (for purpose of changing clothes), lazy chairs etc etc .. I guess u get the idea. We practically brought the whole house. We went via 5 cars and one MPV. Roughly around 15 adults and 20 children.
The waterfall was just about an hour's drive away but my uncle made us all take the scenic route so we went through the Orang Asli villages. The houses looked very sparse and the roofs were made of straw. Looking at the inhabitants of the village were like watching a documentary on Discovery Channel. Believe it or not this was my first encounter with these indigenous people.
We decided to set up tent at the river instead as the waterfall (with all the rocks) were a bit too dangerous for the kids. The water was coold!!! But yet so refreshing and clear. We even sat on the rocks and ate sandwiches in the water. The kids had even more fun trying to run away from IS who teased them endlessly. I honestly dun think I have ever had so much fun like I did last weekend. Too bad I cant show you most of the pics we took on that day. censored coz I was tudung-less. But here are some of the other pics......
BODY HERE.. SOUL THERE
I'm keeping a close eye on the office clock, counting the minutes till 1pm when I'll be offfffff.......IS will fetch me from the office, get home get our bags, fetch my mom then ZOOOOM off we go...
Meanwhile, here's some wise words for all boyfriends and husbands out there ....
Tips for guyz on how to understand "Women"
Words Women Use
The following are definitions for words women use when replying to their man...
"FINE"
This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks - this will cause you to have one of those arguments.
"FIVE MINUTES"
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it's an even trade.
"NOTHING"
This means "something", and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. 'Nothing" usually signifies an oncoming argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with 'Fine'.
"GO AHEAD" (With Raised Eyebrows)
this is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine".
"GO AHEAD" (Normal Eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care." You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and then she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.
LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing."
SOFT SIGH
again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement.” Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.
"THAT'S OKAY"
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a Raised Eyebrow "GO AHEAD." At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.
"PLEASE DO"
This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay."
"THANKS"
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you're welcome.
"THANKS A LOT"
This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing."
Makan Sutra...
After work yesterday, IS and I went to Simpang Bedok to have an early dinner. I had a craving for Chicken Rice so we drove all the way there. They had prawn fritters so we ordered that too although it cost a whopping $12/-. It was very nice but soo not worth the price !!!! We ordered take-away Kway Teow in Upeh leaf. Its actually Hor Fun wrapped in a big white Pinang Leaf and tied using rafia string. It seems that in the olden pre-plastic container days, food was wrapped in such a way. Its not only enviro-friendly, it enhances the flavour of the food too. Too bad my hp was out of batt if not I'd surely have taken a pic or two to post up here.
And since 10 this morning, my office collegues have been busy discussing where to go for lunch today. Files on the table have barely been touched yet we are discussing lunch already. Talk about productivity !!! Hahahaha Anyway we have decided to go to Rex Mackenzie Chicken Rice at Prinsep Street. Thats the best thing about working in town all the nice food places are just one straight bus away.
CONFIRMED!!!!! We will be going to Temerloh Pahang this Thursday nite. (Good Friday hols) We were in two minds about it initially, well.. until my cousin called to say she n her family was going back too. That was the PUSH factor I guess. Nothing makes us all happier than a family gathering...
Perhaps its the Arabic origin of the family that makes us love social get-togethers within the family sooo much. Every chance we get, somebody is sure to organise a trip to somewhere, usually to an uncle or a cousin's place. And the best part is... we would travel together... 3 or 4 cars in convoy like a procession of some sort. Or, if that is not possible then we would meet at the destination, timing our arrivals within minutes of each other. Sleep is never on our list of things as there will be too much of catching up to do. Lucky the houses are all landed with lotsa compound space as the kids are usually banished to the exterior to keep the noise level low. And the number of kids !!!!! One uncle has 5 kids and the other has 6.. my cousin currently has 3 and counting my sis's one (Idris) you can iimagine the decibel level !!!!!
Here's an article in the "LIFE" section of today's Straits Times that got me tickled.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Have the flowers gone?
Most couples eventually settle into a routine, but you should still do little special things for each other to keep the relationship going

By Pradeep Paul

STRAIGHT TALK
YOU don't bring me flowers anymore.
Whoa, danger signal, guys.
If you've had that line thrown at you by your woman - be it girlfriend or wife - recently, you're in big trouble.
It doesn't even have to be those exact words. But you can bet your last dollar that they will be accompanied by a puppy-dog look, complete with big sorrowful eyes and pouting lips.

You know the look. It's the one that makes men wish they'd read that Venus and Mars book.
But hold on. Is she justified? Have you bought her flowers of late?
No, right?
In fact, have you done anything special for her of late?
That's right, scratch your head and think.

Of course, the key word here is special. What is special to a new couple may be ho-hum to one that has pictures of their silver wedding anniversary on the wall.
To a new couple, almost every act is special. You call her every half hour, it's soooo caring.
Call your spouse of 10 years every half hour, it's harassment.
To a new couple, a lingering look at each other is special.
To a much-married couple, that same look may just signal misplaced bifocals.
To a new couple, sharing an ice-cream is soooo sweet, so special.
To a much-married couple, it's sacrifice. One likes chocolate. The other prefers strawberry.
But is this true? Are we - men and women - guilty of taking our partners for granted? Do we stop doing anything special once the thrill of the chase has dissipated

In a way, yes.
We fall into our routines. We get busy with work, children, whatever. We assume the other person knows we care. And we sometimes stop doing the things we used to do in the early stages of the relationship.
Both men and women are guilty of it, but men are more easily distracted. Sure, the woman may not be stroking his ego that much any more but, hey, there's so much to watch on telly like that Man U game and those hot gals on Are You Hot?.
But women don't lose the plot so easily. They stay focused on the issue, they simmer, come to a slow boil and finally let it bubble over. They need resolution.

Which is when you hear that dreaded line.
But, in truth, is she justified?
After all, we - again, men and women - do many small things in the course of a day to show we love and care.
They may seem minor, even insignificant. But they count.

Think about these examples that you may or may not have done:
Waking up early every morning to make your partner a cup of tea.
Dragging yourself out of bed early on your day off just to drive your partner to work.
Sitting through a movie that you hate, just because your partner is dying to see it.
Wearing an item of clothing that he bought you, even though it is not comfortable or the right shade or (gasp) makes you look fat
Keeping a smile on your face - and enough beer in the fridge - when the in-laws visit every week.
Taking the car for servicing even though she uses it most of the time.
Cooking him his favourite dish, even though you're on a killer diet.
Sacrificing a game of golf or soccer to help her with an assignment from the course she's taking.
Okay, not all these examples may impress you. But I'm pretty sure at least a couple will make you sit up and hear me.

Every couple has their own formula. He will do some things, and she does other things.
The problem is we get so used to it, we don't even notice it anymore. It's par for the course.
It's not just about flowers.
Let's change that. There's nothing like letting your loved one know that you appreciate what he or she is doing for you, however mundane it may be.
And, guys, some flowers may not be a bad call either.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To a large extent, I agree with the writer. I remember how IS used to surprise me with deliveries of a bouquet of red roses every time I come back from Malaysia. Been a long time since I saw that delivery guy .. hhmmmm. I also remember the cute little trinkets he used to get me every now and then, soft cuddly bears, self-made miniature models of planes n sports cars, posh restaurant treats etc etc ... And of course the ever willingness to accompany me shopping at whichever mall I wanna visit for the weekend.
But then again, now I no longer have to brave the morning and evening peak-hour public transport crowds to get to and from work. Now I go on almost monthly all-expenses-paid trip to Malaysia to visit my family. (instead of only on the two Rayas) and my fussiness and fastidiousness are never trivial to him and my opinions always counts. (you have no idea how much satisfaction that gives me, since all my life I've always been the baby of the family)
HHm.. I guess it balances out yeah ?? Maybe the thingss he does now are lot less showy and dramatic like in the earlier days but they matter all the same. But echoing Pradeep Paul, THAT BOUQUET OF RED ROSES WOULD BE NICE TOO.......... hehehehe
Just came back from lunch with my office collegues. We left at 12.30pm (lunch is supp to be at 1pm) took a bus down to Arab Street to eat at Hajah Maimunah Restaurant. The place was sooo crowded!!! We had to wait about 15 mins just to get a seat.
But it was worth it .. the food was Deeeelicious !!! We ordered Siput Sedut (eeeww!!!) giant Sotong sambal, tahu telur, fried chicken, lemak lodeh, sambal goreng etc etc....My collegues were quite noisy sucking away atthe siputs but looking around us everyone else was doing the same too. (Not me though, I dun eat mussels, cocckles n any of their cousins) We reached office at 2.30pm......sauntered our way thru the doors like big bosses hehhehe.
TWISTED ROUND N ROUND
Whatever you do, dun bother going to the movies to watch "TWISTED" because true to its title, it is indeed twisted, the Director's head that is...... The movie is unbelievably bad!!! And its soo wasted coz u have 3 of the best actors combined yet nothing good came outta it.
Went to watch it laz night @ Lido Orchard, after a fruitful shopping xpedition with IS. There was this one day sale on Meyer products yesterday over at Isetan and as expected we bought almost everything on sale. Hey ... No shopping rules don't apply to household items allright !!!!!
As we were going towards our car at the carpark, a black sporty Honda Civic drove by us and guess what? It turned out to be IS's old fren back when he used to work at HP. Haha a small world indeed. It seems they have both been trying to contact the other with no luck till the chance meeting yesterday. So looks like tomorrow is gonna be his boy's day out... So girls..... wanna get together for our day out ????
Interesting ain't it ? It's often said that our birth order influences a lot on what kind of person we tunr out to be and even our choices in life, For example, it has been said that the eldest girl in the family who is used to caring for her younger siblings often end up with a husband who is the youngest in his family who enjoys the "mothering" the wife offers....
Personally I am the youngest in the family but more often than not I am regarded n treated as an only child as my other siblings are very much older than I am. I guess that kinda explains the way I am. I must admit I am kinda used to having things MY WAY Even when all the odds seem to be stacked against me, I somehow always managed to get on the top of things. So undoubtably years n years of it has moulded me into having high expectations. And when things dun seem possible, I still hang on full of hope as I somehow expects things to take a better turn and make it possible again... ok I'm blabbering here but I guess u get what i mean ....
IS calls it the "only child syndrome". hehehe I am a stark contrast to him, him being a middle child. He is highly independent and has always fended for himself. Lucky for me, he is the chivalrous type and always makes sure I am well taken care of. When I badly want something and for some reason it is not attainable, IS will always try to find a way to get it for me anyway. hehe spoilt rotten eh ?
But recently due to some uncontrollable factor, a particular item flew out of our reach (nope, not divulging what it is just yet) I was sorely dissapointed and have been trying since to come to terms with it. I have been sulking much to the annoyment of IS who can't seem to understand why I had to do so since what happened is neither of our faults. Still, he has been very patient and I guess I am very grateful to him for understanding.
Ok ok I noe I must mend my ways. I must be more matured and understand that not everything I want I can get .... no matter how much I want it !! Especially with our soon to be new status... there will be financial commitments and $$$ wun b so disposable anymore.... BUT STILLLLLL......... I have a few more months to play the Primadona *winks*
