Splendid Weekend

We had a thoroughly enjoyable, refreshing and wunderful short (too short !!) break in KL laz weekend. Left SG around 9.30 on Sat morn by coach. Since it costs more to get a return ticket from SG, we decided to only get them upon reaching KL. Imagine our panic n worry when all coach companies said they ha no tix left for return to SG. There must be like 30 diff bus companies in Pudu but all of them did not have any tix left. Even the most ex$$ coach Plusliner (with tix costing up to RM60 for a single trip, usual is only RM30) had no more tix. Fortunately one small obscure company we tried our luck with said they still had tix but only for the 1.30pm coach. Even though down on our luck and here was a lifeline, the four of us still took a few mins to consider. Hahaha Kinda sad really coz it meant we will not have much time to shop on Sunday. We checked into our hotel soon after only to realise that not only did we have an LCD screen with free internet access for 24 hours but also that we had a most wunderful view. No.. not of the KL landscape but the BOLD shiny letters on the mega-building opposite the hotel spelling out "TIMES SQUARE" heheheheheh.

First stop was Masjid India where Alisa n Sumarni wanted to get some tudungs for their respective moms. Not wanting to go thru the hellish KL jam and also for the experience, we got around via the public rail system. Managed to only walk through half of Masjid India area before we were caught in this massive rain. We were quite upset actually to be caught in the rain., Bad enuff we only had less than 24 hours in Kl, the rain slowed us down even more. Still, we managed to buy 2 lovely embroidered tudungs for my sis and aunt. Nani got some too. Almost every shop was selling the "selling-like-hotcakes tudung Waheeda". And nooo.. I wasn't tempted !! hehe

Took Putra line to KLCC from there where we spend the next 6 hours in a shopping frenzy. We went to almost every shop on every floor, much to the annoyance of our self-declared food-monster fren, Alisa who was by then famished!!!!
hehe...

We wanted to have a nice sit-down dinner at St Francisco Steak House (ok, just me, Alisa was willing to eat off the wall by then !!) but we had a hard time finding the exact location of the retaurant given the size of Suria KLCC. Even directories did not provide much help in finding our way. In the end we settled for Dome. When we left the restaurant, we realised St Francisco Steak House was just a few doors away !! *sigh* Never mind, there'll always be a next time !!! Insya'allah.

Our 2nd day was even more fun as we walked from our hotel to Jalan Bukit Bintang after breakfast praying that some shops would be open in the early hours of 9.30am. We finally landed ourselves in Sungei Wang Plaza where I managed to (finally!!!) get my Vincci Shoes. Last stop was Times Square. Didnt managed to walk around much as we had to rush back to the hotel to check out. Managed however to get a loooong n fearful glimpse at the indoor theme park.

Although we didn't get to take the roller coaster ride, we had a ride of sorts in the bus on the way back to SG. Finally reached about 7pm at Beach Rd. All in all, a SPLENDID WEEKEND!!!!!
